MuseBox ("the App") is designed to help musicians record and organize music ideas. Your privacy is important, and this policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Audio Recordings

MuseBox allows you to record audio using your device's microphone.

  • Audio recordings are user-generated content
  • Recordings are stored locally on your device
  • If iCloud is enabled, recordings are synchronized using Apple CloudKit
  • MuseBox does not access, analyze, or listen to your recordings

Audio recordings are never sent to third-party analytics services.

Usage Data (Analytics)

MuseBox collects anonymous usage data to help improve app performance and usability.

  • App launches
  • Feature usage (e.g. recording started, playback used)

This data:

  • Does not include audio content
  • Does not include personal identifiers
  • Is not linked to your identity

Analytics are processed using PostHog.

MuseBox does not:

3. iCloud / CloudKit

MuseBox uses Apple CloudKit for optional backup and synchronization.

  • CloudKit is provided and managed by Apple
  • Data stored in CloudKit is associated with your Apple ID
  • MuseBox cannot access your Apple ID or personal Apple account details

The app functions fully without iCloud enabled.

4. Data Sharing

MuseBox does not share your personal data with third parties, except:

  • Apple (for iCloud / CloudKit synchronization)
  • PostHog (for anonymous usage analytics)

No audio recordings are shared with analytics providers.

5. Data Retention

  • Audio recordings remain on your device and iCloud until you delete them
  • Anonymous analytics data may be retained for analysis purposes
  • You can delete all recordings at any time within the app

6. Your Choices

You can:

  • Deny microphone access (recording will be unavailable)
  • Disable iCloud in device settings
  • Stop analytics collection by uninstalling the app

7. Children's Privacy

MuseBox does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.

8. Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect your data. iCloud data security is handled by Apple's infrastructure.
